Mop

I am so sad to say that my big boy's hair is so long now that it lays flat on his head.  No more crazy hair, those days are gone.  I don't even know if I cut it if it would stand up again.  I don't think I'm ready to cut his hair.  Here are some pics of his flat hair.
As you can see, it isn't all completely flat because he has some killer cowlicks.

Walker is getting around SO fast now and I'm completely worn out at the end of the day trying to keep up with him!!  You would think I would be getting skinny from how busy we stay all the time, but no luck.  Boo.
I can't believe Walkerman will be ONE YEAR OLD in less than 3 months.  No, I have not started planning his party yet.  It is going to be small and at our house.  Close family and a few friends only.  I am not stressing out about it because he will only be 1 year old and will not remember even one second of it.  We are going to get him some fun presents tho, we just aren't sure exactly what yet.  He might be walking by then with how he is standing on his own sometimes and walking on his hands and feet all the time!!  I can't believe it.  I love every second with this little person who I love more than I ever could have imagined was possible.

I'm teaching W how to wave and say byebye, we're making some progress...he knows how to wave, but not really on command yet.  He gives kisses if he's in the mood and sticks his tongue out all the time now.  He's so much fun.  How do we deserve these little angels that God loans to us for our short time on this earth?  I am so thankful.

So not much new going on, except for our A/C going out almost a week ago and just getting fixed today.  It's been an interesting week.  I am so very thankful for my air conditioning and will never forget to thank God for it again.

crawling, really?!?!

I really can't believe Walkerman is already crawling.  It doesn't seem like he's been born long enough to have learned to crawl.  8 months...wow....time flies.  He's not the quickest little mover, but he can get where he wants to go, that's for sure.  Here is a little video of him, it's really dark but you can tell he gets moving at the end.

So he started crawling on Tuesday, and then yesterday he was already pulling himself up into standing position!!  All this is happening way too fast for me, and I don't like it one bit.  He is able to chew his own food with his 6 toofs and now he can get wherever he wants to go on his own little legs and stand up when he gets there!!  Too fast....here is a video of him halfway standing up.  He hasn't figured out that it's easier to stand up when you're not doing the splits at the same time.

So that's what's new with us....Walker is practically an adult. *tears*

And his hair is crazier by the day,  it seems....

The pics are kind of dark but oh well...that's what I get for always using my phone for pictures.

Top Teef

Walkerman has two top teeth!!  And I am talkin TEETH....they have just started coming in but you can see the whole tooth pushed against his gums as it's trying to make it's way down....and they are BIG.  I want them to come in but I don't want them to come in.  I know he is going to look completely different and not so much like a baby anymore!!  Makes Mommy sad....

So my baby now has 4 teeth and as if that isn't emotionally draining enough for me to deal with, I am fixing to start the process to stop breastfeeding in 8 days, when he is 8 months. *sigh*  I know I have fed him for 8 months and he is so strong and healthy and he'll be fine when I stop, but I am so sad about it!!  It's so wonderful knowing that I supply 100% of his nourishment on my own. (well, except for the few niblets of peaches or banana or whatever else I can sneak in his mouth when he's distracted by something else).  It will be nice to have my body back to myself, I will be very happy about that!!  I am just NOT looking forward to having to give him formula for a couple months.  Hopefully the milk supply that I have built up in our freezers will last us for a while!

Bubs still isn't crawling, I am very surprised.  He gets where he wants to go, that's for sure, but he just doesn't crawl to get there.  He rolls all over and scooches and does push ups to lunge his body toward where he's going.  He's a fast little booger too!! I can't turn my head for very long or he's gone!

We went to College Station last weekend for a wedding shower for our good friends Matt and Adrienne, and it was Bubba's first time in Aggieland!  We showed him all around and bought him an aggie jersey and hat at the bookstore.  We went to the Dixie Chicken and he was definitely checkin everything out!  That place sure has changed since we moved away 5 years ago!  It was a super fun day, lots of happy memories.

ALMOST crawling...

I don't know what we are doing all the time that it's been so long since I blogged last!  I guess just being a roly poly and attempting to learn to crawl and fun stuff like that.  W is SO CLOSE.  We are thinking surely he'll get moving within a week or two.  He started by getting up on his hands and toes...then he started doing push-ups (literally).  Now he's getting into practically a football stance(getting ready for the future, I guess).  And he'll get on his hands and knees and just rock back and forth forever.  He just hasn't figured out how to move those arms when he's got himself lifted up.  Should be soon tho!

Daddy is definitely going to have to move his crib down TONIGHT because this morning when I got out of the shower, I heard him talking and moving around in his bed.  Then I heard a noise that sounded like him hitting on his crib, so I went to look at our tv to see what he was doing.  He was sitting up with his hands on top of the outside bar of his crib, beating on it.  So all he had to do was lift himself up (which I'm pretty sure he can do pretty easily) and topple right over!!  Scary!

I finally gave in and took him to the nursery at church.  I started a fabulous bible study so I had to have somewhere to put him!  So he goes to the big nursery in the main church while I'm at bible study on Wednesdays and during church on Sunday he goes to the small nursery at the Loft.  He's done good so far!! Our pager has not gone off yet telling us he's goin bonkers screaming, hopefully me bragging doesn't jinx us. :)

I am loving every second of staying home with him!!!!!!!! I haven't had even ONE second thought about it.  I work a thousand times harder than I ever did at work, but I am so happy.  I love the work that I am doing and I cherish the time spent watching Walker learn and grow every day!  I think (hope) that Jeffrey is happy too, getting to come home to all the laundry done and clean house and dinner cooked!  And happy baby and mommy!  I thank Jesus 239487 times a day for blessing our family so much that we can make it work for me to stay home.  Our God is an AWESOME GOD.

His hair is still standing up, as you can see.  No, we don't do anything to it to make it do that.  Everyone asks me that.  It's just naturally crazy, and I love it!  We don't go anywhere that people don't say how much they love his hair.  It's his trademark :)  Precious little wild-haired angel <3

Here are a few pictures of him recently...he is a little fish in his pool!  We took him to the neighborhood pool this past weekend, too, and he got in his little float and kicked like it was nobody's business.  He loved it!  Altho he kept trying to drink the chlorine water and I kept having to say no and sit him upright.  Jeffrey said it was inevitable that he would drink chlorine water, which I know he will swallow some, but GULPING it is avoidable.  We're gonna have to work on teaching him that community pee water isn't healthy, ick!

he LOVES riding his bear :)

Walker's 1st Easter!!

Walker's first Easter was great!! Bella was here to celebrate with us, and we went to Tomball for lunch with Gramm and Gump and Uncle Jake.  The sermon at church was fantastic, as usual, and the weather was beautiful!!  It was a great day!!  Little Man looked so handsome in his easter clothes, here are a few photos....

The Easter Bunny came to visit Walker THREE times!!  He got some new clothes, a new toy to chew on, a beach towel, some bubbles, some money for his piggy bank, and a new book!!

JESUS IS RISEN!! XoXoXo

SiX MoNtHs aLrEaDy?!?

Where does the time go?!?! My little man is already over 6 months old, with two teefs coming in on the bottom, and not being swaddled at night to sleep anymore!!  Goodness, I don't want time to go by so fast....

Last Friday was Walker's 6 month checkup, and as expected, he's a big boy.  19lb 13oz, so 90% in weight, and 28.25in long, 95% in height.  The doc said everything looked good!!  Munckin was a trooper when it came to his shots, crying for literally 3 seconds until I picked him up and then nothin.  He makes me so proud every day!! :)

We also had photos done of him Friday and he was in the best mood ever.  The photographer said babies like Walker make his job easy. :)  Of course, it helped that somehow I managed to plan it out perfectly that he ate and had a 30 minute nap right before we went in for his photos.  So of course he was happy.  Go Mom, if I must say so myself!!  Here are some of the photos....(altho I know you have already seen all of them since I plastered them all over facebook, hehe)

Walker is getting dedicated at church on June 26th, so that's exciting!!  I wish we could do it sooner, but there are only certain days throughout the year that they do baby baptisms, so June 26th it is.

I'll have some Easter pictures after this weekend!!  Happy Easter everyone!

Shhhh, he's sleeping!!

I figured I have a few minutes while the big boy is napping so I would put a few pictures up.  He is not on a nap schedule that I can count on because we are always coming and going at different times.  Do other moms not make plans if they are going to interfere with the baby's regular nap time?!?  I would never be able to leave my house if I did that because Walker is still eating every three hours and napping intermittently in between those!!  Forget that!!

I am boiling some carrots to feed him tonight for the first time!!  His first food!!  We tried cereal two times and it went horribly, he wanted NOTHING to do with it.  So we quickly gave that up and I am giving in to feeding him some carrots to start off his solid foods.  I don't know why I am so against starting him on solids, but I am really sad about it!!  It's not like he is still eating off of me and I am sad to lose that, because he realized very quickly when I went back to work that the bottle was much easier.  So now I just give him breastmilk in a bottle.  So I will continue to do that when he starts solid food.  Maybe it just makes me sad because I feel like he is getting so big and growing too fast!!  Who knows!!

I cleaned my house yesterday and today for the first time since quitting work and I will admit, IT SUCKS!!  I miss my housekeeper BIG TIME, but it was totally worth giving her up to stay home with the little munchkin.  But still, cleaning house sucksssssssssssssssssssssss............

I don't know about you, but I never knew that eczema in babies was such a HUGE problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I had no clue that so many babies have it and I never heard parents talk about what a horrible pain it is!  Maybe Walker just has it alot worse than most.  His cheeks are always red and oozing from his eczema, and behind his knees is pretty scary lookin.  You can't tell too bad in the pictures below.  He has good days and bad days and it can change in an hour.  We have tried just about everything we know of, but if anyone has any miracle cure or suggestions, we would realllllllllllllly appreciate any help we can get!!

So here are a few new pictures from recently.

6 month checkup is next Monday, so I will update then!!  We might be in the 100% on height and weight, we'll see!
