I had my 20 week appointment Monday after we got back from our FABULOUS cruise!! Here is a pic of me posing in front of the most UNbeautiful background on the shiip.
Nugget was counting sheep and REFUSED to budge even after I poked him from every angle I could reach. He was also curled up in a tiny corner of my uterus sitting directly on my bladder, which helped explain why it was 2pm and I had already used the ladies' room 4893754 times that day. Bella and Graham were with us, so they got to see Nugget for the first time, so that was really fun. :)
Also, my appointment was right after we had just gone to Target and bought the CUTEST pair of little newborn shoes with monkeys on them. About 2 minutes into the ultrasound, the sonogram lady laughed when I told her we had bought some precious newborn shoes. She said yeah you might want to go ahead and buy 1-3 month size. So to all of our friends that have said they are going to contribute to training camps for Nugget so that he can play in the NFL, please start mailing your checks at your earliest convenience. He was also attempting to devour one of his big ole feets the whole time, so he is a limber little fella with a healthy appetite.
I am now only sporting prego pants, and there is a high chance they might be my permanent wardrobe for the rest of my life. If you think you have some comfortable lounging pants at home, you are just DREAMING until you purchase some maternity pants. It's like there is no wasteband holding the fabric on my legs. I also purchased a pair of what I thought were the ugliest jeans on the planet, until I tried them on and they became the most stylish jeans I have ever owned, even with the elastic fabric tucking up under my armpits :) I highly recommend preggers pants to ANY woman....wait, make that any human.....men deserve to be comfortable too. I won't judge.
Here is a picture of Nugget snoozing with his foot comfortably propped on his cheek.
You can see his ear on the side of his head, and to me his head looks large. But the lady said all babies have about the same size head until a certain point, at which time I am sure Nugget's will balloon into a watermelon similar to his Mom and Dad. As long as it's full of brains, that's fine with me!!
Here are a couple pics of his nursery, which is still empty, but it's painted!! There are a couple things on the wall just b/c we had nails already there from the previous stuff in the room. The wheel is going to be painted all black, so it won't have the blue on there.
Well, nothing much exciting going on except that Nugget is now 13 ounces, so ALMOST 1 pound! My doc said that all his measurements looked great, so that was definitely a blessing. Praise Jesus!! At my next appointment, I have to do the glucose screening to find out if I have gestational diabetes and I beg that you all toss up some quick prayers that I don't. My body might have a complete meltdown without the sugar that I have been craving for 5 months now. Oh!! I also asked my doc about sleeping on my back, which I am SO GLAD I did because I have been freaking every time I wake up on my back because of all the horror stories I have read. She said, I quote, "Sleep however you are the most comfortable. It does not matter if you are sleeping on your back, sleep on your stomach if you want, whatever is COMFORTABLE." So I high-fived her and trotted out of there thrilled that I didn't have get out bed in the middle of the night and dance jigs anymore to see if I could get Nugget to move so that I would know for sure he was okay.
Until next time, Nugget will be practicing his dance moves and I will be frequenting the restrooms of every fine establishment I enter.
Chubby Butt OUT!
